Biography
Born on March 15, 1943 in Toronto, Ontario, Cronenberg had initial intentions of becoming a novelist, thanks in large part to reading William Burroughs and Vladimir Nabokov in his father's literary magazines. In 1963, he was enrolled at the University of Toronto, where he took science courses, believing that writing was a skill unable to be taught....
