Born Garry Kent Marshall in New York City, NY on Nov. 13, 1934, Marshall was one of three children born to Anthony Marshall, an industrial filmmaker - and later producer on several of Garry's series - who changed the family name from "Marsciarelli" prior to Garry's birth, and tap dance instructor Marjorie Ward.
