Born on Oct. 3, 1964 in the small town of Coventry, England, Owen was raised in a fairly rough neighborhood by his country music singing father, who was divorced from his mom in 1968. Owen knew early on that he wanted to be an actor after playing the Artful Dodger in a school production of "Oliver!" When he was 13 years old, he joined a youth group run by the Coventry Theatre while a student at Binley Comprehensive.
