American television broadcaster and meteorologist Al Roker was born on August 20, 1954, in Queens, NY. Al graduated from Xavier High School in New York City and from State University of New York College at Oswego with a degree in communications. He worked in television around Cleveland and New York before he became a weatherman on "News 4 New York," working there from 1983 to 1995.
