Born April 13, 1964 in Montreal, Quebec, Caroline Gilchrist Rhea (pronounced "Ray") was one of three girls born to Marjorie and David Rhea, an antiques dealer and an obstetrician, respectively. Raised in Montreal and educated at the private all-girls school The Study, she went on to attend Dalhousie University on the island province of Nova Scotia. Rhea made her film debut with an uncredited role in the low-budget comedy sequel "Meatballs III" (1986), before moving to New York City to study stand-up comedy at the New School of Social Research in 1989.
