Kudos to my friend Meredith for sharing this deeply personal story. I hope it makes the difference for women who are caught in a cycle of domestic violence. I once worked at a shelter for victims in upstate NY and worked a hotline. It is far more complicated to leave than most people understand. Meredith is helping get that message out... and encouraging women to find help.

On Saturday I got to help host two great Cornell variety shows marking the 150th anniversary with other Cornell alums at Lincoln Center. Thanks to everyone who helped create such a fun show! Loved being alongside Jimmy Smits MFA '82, football legend and actor Ed Marinaro '72, and sharing a dressing room with the inspiring actress Adepero Oduye '99 ("12 Years a Slave"). There are more celebrations coming all over the world. Cornellians- you should really try to make one! http://150.cornell.edu/regionalcelebrations
