Running Time: 52 mins.
An exploration of the recent convergence of feminism and rock and how each is influenced by the other in the 1990s. Some of today's most tenacious singer/songwriters including Sinead O'Connor, Tori Amos, Shirley Manson of Garbage, Skin from Skunk Anansie, and Ani DiFranco, prove that female rockers need not be sweet or soft-spoken. They foreground both their passion and their aggression. Bringing feminism out of the textbook and the ghetto, riot grrls, alternative rockers, and political ranters are putting a new twist on girl power.
