Does ‘Magic Mike XXL’ Have The Magic Of The First Film?

July 2nd, 2015 10:30am EDT
'Magic Mike XXL' Review: Fun And Heartwarming Despite The Flaws
Despite myself I enjoyed 'Magic Mike XXL.' While the dialogue's terrible, the acting's questionnable and, the writing's disjointed, I still left the movie feeling happy, bouyant and free.

'Magic Mike XXL' picks up where 'Magic Mike' ends with the men at their careers' end. As their looks decrease and their ages increase, what happens to a former stripper with no discernible skills or capabilities? Under the guise of a 'last hurrah' stripper convention road trip, the film's first half surrounds the men's need to grow including Big Dick Richie's (Joe Manganiello) quest for love, shaggy-haire...

Future Filmmakers To Watch For – Writer/Director Christopher Soren Kelly

July 1st, 2015 10:45am EDT
Remember the first time you experienced a flick helmed by a true visual stylist? Early films from talents like David Fincher (via "The Game!"), The Wachowski Bros. (all hail "Bound!"), David Lynch ("Blue Velvet" is his masterwork!) and Tom Tykwer (does it get better then "Run Lola Run!") - directors who understood film was a visual medium and took full eye candy advantage? Always on the lookout for work that brings back that magic to the movies, I recently came across a short film at this year’s Dances With Films Festival 2015 from a filmmaker that made me take pause. Steeped in style, b...

Future Of 'Up' House Is Grim

July 1st, 2015 9:37am EDT
The days are numbered for a tiny home in Seattle that resembles the house from the 2009 Pixar film "Up." The property was previously owned by Edith Macefield, who made headlines a decade ago after refusing to sell the 600-square-foot home to make room for commercial development. She was offered $1 million to sell the home, which was built in 1900.

Retailers wound up building large retail stores around the property (check out the incredible photo on the New York Times).

Macefield died in 2008 at the age of 86. An investment management company obtained the home following a mortgage default...

Olivia Munn Shows Off Her Katana Skills In 'X-Men: Apocalypse' T
Olivia Munn is learning "some new tricks" as she prepares for her role as the mutant Psylocke in next year's X-Men: Apocalypse.

The actress posted a short video of herself wielding a katana and showing off her new skills while boyfriend Aaron Rodgers swings his own weapon around behind her. Unfortunately the Green Bay Packers star quarterback's skills are no match for his lady's.

"Learned some new tricks..." she captioned the video.

Munn is set to play Betsy Braddock -- aka Psylocke -- in the third film in the latest X-Men trilogy, which began in 2011 with X-Men: First Class. The charact...

Even At 14, Amy Winehouse Could Still Belt It Out (See The Video!)

June 30th, 2015 2:32pm EDT
Amy Winehouse
Amy Winehouse had a serious set of pipes- even at 14 years old! According to USA Today, a clip from the upcoming Amy Winehouse documentary Amy was just released online, and it'll blow you away.

The clip is part of an old home video, where a bunch of London youngsters mess around at a birthday party. Then we cut to a teenage Amy Winehouse. She belts out a few bars of "Happy Birthday," Marilyn Monroe-style. Not surprisingly, before-she-was-famous Amy sounds really, really incredible.

Asif Kapadia, the director of Amy, spoke to ET about the scene. "There are a group of friends that she's wit...
