Adam & The Ants are a post-punk / new-wave group that achieved prominent success in the early 1980’s. The group was formed in 1977 by lead singer Adam Ant (Stuart Leslie Goddard). A quick recording session resulted in their early appearance on the BBC’s John Peele show subsequently recording the tracks "Deutscher Girls" and “Jubilee” that would become hits for them after the groups demise in 1982. The group’s first studio release, 1979’s “Dirk Wears White Sox,” received tepid reception resulting in a small cult following, limited commercial success and band members leaving to form art-punk-pop group Bow Wow Wow.
