Concrete Blonde is an alternative rock band formed by singer-songwriter Johnette Napolitano and based out of Los Angeles, California. The band started out in 1982 as 'Dream 6' with guitarist James Mankey. The band was signed by I.R.S. Records in 1986, and drummer Harry Rushakoff turned the duo in a trio. Roxy Music drummer Paul Thompson stepped in to replace Rushakoff while he was in treatment for drug addiction, with Gabriel Ramirez becoming the permanent drummer.
