John Cameron Fogerty was born on May 28, 1945 in Berkeley, California and is a rock singer and songwriter best known for his time with the band Creedence Clearwater Revival. Fogerty went on to have a successful solo career after Creedence Clearwater Revival. Fogerty was compelled to play music from a young age and learned to play the guitar by the time he was a teenager. Inspired by artists such as Little Richard and Bo Diddley, Fogerty and his brother joined Doug Clifford and Stu Cook to form the band Tommy Fogerty and the Blue Velvets in 1960.
