Kaiser Chiefs are an indie rock band from England, who formed in Leeds in 1996. The band's debut album, “Employment” was released in 2005 and showcased a new wave/punk rock influence that was typical of the late 1970s and 1980s musical climate in England. The album was warmly received and the band amassed international success selling over three million copies. In 2005, the album was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize.
