Raffi Cavoukian was born on July 8, 1948 in Cairo, Egypt, and is an Armenian-Canadian singer, songwriter, and author, who is best known by his stage name Raffi. Raffi currently heads up the 'Centre for Child Honoring,' a global organization that centers on the helping and healing of children all over the world through music. Despite his Egyptian birth, Raffi's parents are American and immigrated to Canada in 1958, settling in Toronto, Ontario where Raffi was raised. Raffi was drawn to music at an early age and by the time he was a teenager he was hanging out with other musicians.
