Rusted Root is a world music group that hails from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and is known for their unique sound, which blends acoustic rock with styles that draw from African, Latin and Native American, and Indian music. The group formed in 1990 and released their debut album, “Cruel Sun” in 1992 on an independent label. The success of the album led to a major-label deal and the release of “When I Woke” in 1994.
