Snow Patrol is an alternative rock band from Bangor, County Down, Northern Ireland and now based in Glasgow, Scotland. The band originally formed at the University of Dundee in 1994, Gary Lightbody, Michael Morrison and Mark McClelland under the name Shrug. In 1995 they released an extended play titled “The Yogurt vs. Yogurt Debate.” Morrison left that year and the band changed their name to Polarbear. Under this name they released a second EP, “Starfighter Pilot,” on the Electric Honey label 1997. Drummer Jonny Quinn joined the group and the band signed to Jeepster Records the same year.
