Tonic is a rock band that was formed by vocalist Emerson Hart and guitarists Jeff Russo, who were childhood friends that had lost contact and ran into one another in Los Angeles in 1983. The duo went on to recruit drummer Kevin Shepard and bassist Dan Rothchild to round out the lineup. The band began to play gigs in and around the Los Angeles area before they signed a record deal in 1995 and put out their debut album, “Lemon Parade” in 1996.
