Martha Wainwright was born May 8, 1976 in Montreal, Canada and is a Canadian-American folk-rock singer-songwriter. She is the daughter of American folk singer, and actor, Loudon Wainwright III and Canadian folk singer-songwriter Kate McGarrigle. Raised in a musical family, Wainwright was submerged in music of all genres and began singing and performing at an early age. In 1997 Wainwright released a debut offering called “Ground Found,” which gained her some attention. Living in New York, and touring with her brother Rufus Wainwright, Wainwright kept herself busy and in 2002 released a self-titled EP called “Factory,” followed by another EP called “Bloody Mother Fucking Asshole.”...
