Review: Ariana Grande Shines Vocally on ‘My Everything’

August 27th, 2014 9:50am EDT
Ariana Grande
On Ariana Grande’s sophomore album My Everything, things feel different from her debut Yours Truly from 2013. The voice still soars commandingly – there’s no difference there – but My Everything has more of the feel of a big pop album. Sure Yours Truly had some exceptional records itself and blended pop and R&B sensibilities much like this album, but My Everything feels as if Grande has better established her niche and is flexing.

My Everything is a solid second effort from Grande, feeling like the right album for the right time. That said, the album itself, while good, is by no means...

August 27th, 2014 8:25am EDT
Bachelor in Paradise
Yesterday was tough. Night sweats. Day sweats Full-body, uncontrollable itching. And all because we had to wait another day to find out if Graham actually accepted AshLee's rose (note: if you actually suffered symptoms because you had to wait a day for more "Bachelor in Paradise," please call an ambulance. And then a good psychotherapist).

But at long last, the wait is over. AshLee said those fateful words: "Graham, will you accept this rose?"

And Graham took a minute to think it over, then fled the stage at full speed. And when we pick up tonight, Graham's still fleeing. And sweating. Re...

Sofia Vergara And 15 Of The Best Dressed Women At The 2014 Emmys
The 2014 Emmy Awards telecast on Monday night wasn't much to write home about, trudging along in mediocrity save for a few above average moments.

Even the fashion this year was so-so. Few stars stood out this year -- a stark contrast to Sunday night's MTV Video Music Awards -- and, of course there were some bad dresses, but even the bad wasn't that bad (well, if you take Lena Dunham out of the equation).

Starting off with three women whose amazing curves were on display all night, Modern Family's Sofia Vergara, True Detective's Alexandra Daddario and Mad Men's Christina Hendricks, these 1...

Many thought Jesse Helt was Cyrus' new boyfriend after he showed up with the singer on the red carpet. When the pop star won "Video of the Year" for "Wrecking Ball," Helt accepted the award for her in order to raise awareness about homeless youths. Cyrus met Helt, 22, last week at Hollywood shelter My Friend's Place.

Helt told the audience, "My name is Jesse, and I'm accepting this award on behalf of 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth who are starving ...

Weird Al Yankovic Parodies TV Theme Songs, Pushes 'Game Of Thron
There were few highlights to a rather uneventful and, frankly, boring 2014 Emmy Awards ceremony Monday night, but about halfway into the show, 'Weird Al' Yankovic took the stage for three-and-a-half minutes for a parody medley of the theme songs of hit shows "Mad Men," "Scandal," "Homeland," "Modern Family" and "Game of Thrones," the latter of which was the focus of the skit and co-starred Andy Samberg as the show's now deceased young king Joffrey Baratheon.

Dancers dressed in outfits the likes of the ones on the show surrounded the singer as he pleaded for writer George R.R. Martin to hur...
