Brittany's 'The Voice' Blog: The Start of Season 2! (Video)

February 7th, 2012 11:00am EST

The Voice Here's what's new on and around NBC's The Voice: season 2 is officially underway, so it's time to meet your new artists - and hear what the season one singers have to say about them!

I'm sure you were all tuned in to the show's post-Super Bowl premiere, which scored big for NBC, delivering the biggest ratings for a non-sports telecast on any network in 6 years. 37.6 million people showed up to see the first round of blind auditions! Wow!

If you missed any of the action, you can catch up with my recaps of season 2 blind auditions, part 1 and part 2. We'll continue the blind auditions next Monday.

And just like last season, you can download performances from all the selected artists by visiting iTunes. (It's worth remembering that for season one, iTunes eventually released all the blind auditions in team albums, so you might want to wait until the teams are set to possibly save some money...but that is two weeks from now.)

A lot of season 1 artists have offered their opinions on season 2's artists. Several have chimed in via Facebook and Twitter. Team Adam's Tim Mahoney did a live chat for one local Minnesota news station. But my favorite thus far is from Team Cee Lo's Tje Austin, who has both a blog and a video-blog up on the subject. Check those out here. Personally, I want to thank the season 1 artists for staying involved with the show, when they could easily have moved on.

You can also get involved if you're on Facebook. NBC has launched The 5th Coach, a new game that allows fans to pick their own dream team of 12 from the rosters of their coaches and compete a la fantasy sports. You can also win some swag by playing. Here's the link to get started.

And if you missed it, here's the Voice Super Bowl commercial we were all laughing over:

This being premiere week, there was plenty of Voice buzz going on. Here at Starpulse, I put together a top 12 list of favorite monents from season 1 to celebrate. We also saw the show get its own Rolling Stone cover story and a few talk show appearances.

Adam Levine performed with Gym Class Heroes on Today, while Adam, Blake and Christina played Guesstures on Ellen. Unsurprisingly, the guys were a complete riot. Here's that video below.

Meanwhile, some of our season 1 artists were popping up in videos as well. Team Blake finalist Dia Frampton now has her own NBC.com web series called "Dia's Next Stage," and you can view part one here. And her teammate Xenia was the subject of a recent NBC4 feature that aired after the Voice premiere. If you missed that, here it is.

And lastly, if you didn't see last night's fantastic Prince medley, see below. (Is anyone else really bummed we can't download this on iTunes?!)

There's a lot going on this week for Voice fans. First, Team Cee Lo's Nakia has released a great new single called "Dream Big," which you can get absolutely free by going here.

Secondly, Team Christina's Beverly McClellan is hitting the West Coast again for a pre-Grammys concert. Tickets are still available: go here for more! (And trust me, you want to see Beverly live. I've had the pleasure and she is fantastic.)

On that note, the Grammy Awards are this Sunday, and all of our coaches are nominated. Tune in to CBS this Sunday night to see if they win - but let's all wish them the best of luck!

Yesterday was former social media correspondent Alison Haislip's birthday - if you want to know what she's doing now, click here. Battleground starts next week! Be there.

And Team Blake advisor (and Blake's awesome wife) Miranda Lambert is making her acting debut with a small role in this Wednesday's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. For more info on that episode, check in Wednesday, but for now, know that Miranda is playing an actress who's nearly assaulted by a TV-show producer. It's not a major role, but she does well.

Miranda and Blake also performed during Sunday's Super Bowl pregame show. Hence the cute photo on this page.

If that's not enough for you, check out what else is happening this week:
