Ginnifer Goodwin With every year comes a new crop of stars appearing on our radar and making entertainment headlines. Some of them are new to the scene, but most are finally getting their big break after years of hard work. Here are the Top 10 Breakout Stars of 2012.

Ginnifer Goodwin: Ginnifer made waves starring in He's Just Not That into You and Big Love, but now she's star of TV hit Once Upon A Time, where she plays Snow White. Expect some huge roles soon.

Frank Ocean: Ocean has been behind many hits as a songwriter, haven written songs for Justin Bieber, John Legend, Brandy, and Beyoncé Knowles as well as working on Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch the Throne. His buzz increased due to an acclaimed mixtape, but he became famous when he released Channel Orange - as well as a heartfelt letter regarding his sexuality.

Rebel Wilson: After a hilarious bit part in 2011's Bridesmaids, Rebel took 2012 by storm by roles in Bachelorette, Pitch Perfect, and Ice Age: Continental Drift. She's nominated for several film critic awards for Pitch Perfect, and there's surely more to come.

Carly Rae Jepsen: Carly placed third in 2007's Canadian Idol. And we would hear little from her until Call me Maybe reached #1 in 15 countries and was viewed over 300 million times on YouTube. Her album hasn't received as much love, only reaching Gold certification in Canada and Brazil.

Martin Freeman: Many fans of British entertainment are aware of Freeman's stardom; he was one of the main characters in The Office and plays Dr. Watson on Sherlock. However, his title role as Bilbo in Hobbit has brought his name to worldwide attention.

PSY: He's been on the scene since 2001, but Gangnam Style became the most viewed video in YouTube history. He has since gone on to perform for the President of the United States, among others. We still think he's only gonna be around for his 15 minutes of fame, however.

Kate Upton: In 2011 Upton appeared dancing to the Dougie on YouTube, which made her a bit famous on the Internet. After a few bit parts here and there, she graced the cover of Sports Illustrated in 2012 and became a superstar. She recently ranked third in AskMen's Top 99 women.

fun.: Their first album dropped in 2008, but February's Some Nights would prove to be the break for the band. We are Young reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the album has sold over 800,000 copies since its release.

Josh Hutcherson: Josh has been in front of a camera for some time, but his fame didn't explode until he nabbed a huge role in the Hunger Game series. He also starred in the Journey to the Center of the Earth sequel and Red Dawn.

One Direction: After forming on the UK X Factor, fans in the United States had to wait until this year for One Direction's first big hit to arrive to our shorts. Up All Night and its hit single What Makes you Beautiful released in February, and it has since been certified 3x platinum (over 3 million sold). Their second album was released worldwide in November and has already sold over 1 million copies.
