Justin Bieber And 10 Other Celebrities Who Hosted And Musically Performed On 'Saturday Night Live'

January 9th, 2013 1:07pm EST

Justin Bieber On February 9, Justin Bieber will become the latest star to simultaneously host Saturday Night Live and perform as the episode's musical act. However, he's far from the first.
The Rolling Stones are the only entire band to provide comedy and music on the show. Everyone but Bill Hyman was involved in the sketch comedy way back in 1978. Last season, Mick Jagger returned to both host and sing, giving him the honor of being the star with the longest gap in time between appearances.
Janet Jackson headed both sides of SNL in 2004, only two months after her infamous wardrobe malfunction during the Superbowl halftime show earlier that year.
Chris "Ludacris" Bridges appeared to promote Release Therapy, which would go on to win the Grammy for Rap Album of the Year.
Jon Bon Jovi was technically only the host of SNL, but he performed musically more times than the supposed musical guest, the Foo Fighters.
Luckily Queen Latifah was the host when the Scissor Sisters had to cancel their appearance on the show - the multi-talented actress happily stepped in and performed as the musical guest as well.
Taylor Swift joined the club in 2009, and will be the third youngest host and musical guest when Bieber boots her out of second.
Britney Spears did the double-deed twice, in 2000 and 2002. Her first appearance made her the youngest to simultaneously host and be the musical guest.
Garth Brooks also hosted and performed twice, but the second time the musical guest was his bizarre alter-ego Chris Gaines.
Jennifer Lopez is the only Latina to be host and musical guest more than once, appearing in 2001 and 2010.
Justin Timberlake is the king of multi-tasking on SNL, having hosted and performed three times - four, if you include him for singling alongside the night's musical guest Ciara. It makes sense, considering he basically makes monthly appearances on the show.
