Justin Bieber Pranks TMZ And Twitter Followers

April 2nd, 2013 1:07pm EDT

Justin Bieber Justin Bieber pranked TMZ hard yesterday, but ended up pranking some of his loyal Twitter followers, as well.
For April Fool's Day, Bieber got the idea to tell his Twitter followers that he would be taking any and all fan calls coming in to a toll-free 800 number. The joke was on TMZ, however, because the number was actually the website's tip line.
Bieber Tweeted, "As promised taking all fan phone calls TODAY at (888) 847 9869. Talk to u soon!" Bieber left the message up for some time, assumably causing hundreds of thousands of fans to hammer TMZ's phone lines in hopes to chat with the star.
TMZ offhandedly mentioned the prank in one of their daily videos, saying that they had to answer "crazy" calls from Beliebers.
