Where Are They Now: Leslie Bibb, AKA Brooke From 'Popular'
October 20th, 2013 9:03pm EDT
Leslie Bibb became a household name when she starred in Popular as the too-perfect, straight-A student Brooke McQueen, whose life is turned upside-down when her father gets engaged to the single mother of the decidedly-unpopular Sam (played by Carly Pope, who we profiled last week). But what has Bibb been up to since the show ended in 2001? Let's find out…
First, some background. Bibb had a handful of single episode appearances in shows Pacific Blue, Home Improvement, and Just Shoot Me! After a bit role in Private Parts on the big screen, she scored her first recurring role in The Big Easy, although the show was cancelled soon after.
Perhaps The Big Easy's cancellation was for the best, as soon after Leslie scored the lead role in the groundbreaking series Popular. She would appear in all 43 episodes and win a Teen Choice award. During her time on Popular, she also starred in The Skulls as Joshua Jackson's love interest.
Bibb quickly moved on after Popular ended, appearing in eight episodes of ER and 13 episodes of Line of Fire. After Line of Fire was canceled, Leslie starred in two TV pilots that weren't optioned - and it seemed her spotlight was quickly fading.
Leslie snagged a role as Detective Tallulah Simmons for the final two seasons of Crossing Jordan. In 2006 she played Ricky Bobby's fickle wife in Talladega Nights. She made appearances in Iron Man and Iron Man 2 as reporter Christine Everhart.
Bibbs appeared in 2011 stinker Zookeeper, 2013 comedy Movie 43 as Wonder Woman, and stars in indie horror-comedy Hell Baby. She made a few appearances in The League as Pete's ex-wife Meegan. She was given the lead role of Amanda in GCB (Good Christian Bitches/Belles), but the series was cancelled after 10 episodes.
