Nicole Kidman Unless you are a celebrity trivia champion, it may surprise you to learn some of your favorite actors and actresses were born far away from the countries we associate them with. While Nicole Kidman's parents are Australian, the actress was actually born in Hawaii and lived the first four years of her life there before moving Down Under.
Mel Gibson was born in Peekskill, New York and lived the first twelve years of his life there. It wasn't until after his father settled an injury lawsuit that Mel moved to Australia, where he became a star for his work in the Mad Max series.
Hugo Weaving was born in Nigeria to English parents. His family moved back to England when he was only one, but also lived in Australia and South Africa during his childhood.
Mila Kunis was born in Ukraine. The family decided to leave the USSR when she was young and moved to Los Angeles with only a few hundred dollars in savings. Kunis revealed in an interview she didn't know a word of English while she attended second grade in California.
Martin Lawrence was born on a United States military base in Germany. He later lived in Maryland with his mother.
Tommy Lee formed Motley Crue in Los Angeles, but he's actually from Athens, Greece. His parents moved to California soon after his birth.

Isla Fisher is known as being Scottish and Australian, but she was born in Muscat, Oman. Her Scottish parents were in the country while he father worked for the United Nations. When she was six the family moved to Australia, where she began her acting career.
Audrey Hepburn is a British acting legend, but she was actually born in Brussels, Belgium. Her father was British and her mother was Dutch. Audrey and her mother moved to England when she was 8.
Portia De Rossi was born in raised in Australia. After moving to Los Angeles to continue her acting career, she trained to drop her Aussie accent. In a recent interview she said she actually lost out on an audition for an Australian character because her accent wasn't believable.
Kiefer Sutherland is all-American in the 24 series, but the action star was born in London, England. It wasn't until he was 9 that Kiefer settled in Toronto.
Nicollette Sheridan was born in England; her family moved to the United States when she was about 10.
Saoirse Ronan is the product of two Irish parents, but she was born in New York City. Her family moved back to Ireland when she was three and she currently resides in Dublin.
Amy Adams was born in Italy while her American father was stationed there. Her family moved about during his career in the armed forces before settling in Colorado when she was eight.
