Drake Disses Macklemore At ESPYs
Back in January Macklemore and Ryan Lewis reigned over the rap category at the Grammys, much to the chagrin of fans of the genre. Many believed Kendrick Lama should have won many of the awards, and suggested that race may have been a factor in the decision.
Macklemore sent a text to Kendrick Lamar and made the odd decision to take a photo of his text and share it with his fans. It read: "You got robbed. I wanted you to win. You should have. It's weird and sucks that I robbed you. I was gonna say that during the Speech. Then the music started playing during my speech and I froze. Anyway, you know what it is. Congrats on this year and your music. Appreciate you as an artist and as a friend. Much love."
Drake mentioned the "apology" back in February in Rolling Stone and called it "wack," and that it "felt cheap." He added, "To name just Kendrick? That sh-t made me feel funny. No, in that case, you robbed everybody. We all need text messages!"
Apparently Drake still hasn't over it, because he brought it up against last night at the ESPYs. During one section of the show, which drake hosted, he said, "Real talent doesn't always win championships, like real music doesn't always win Grammys."Behind him was a press photo of Macklemore holding a Grammy. Watch it above.
