George Jones Late country icon George Jones is to be remembered with a special monument in Nashville, Tennessee.

The singer passed away on April 26 (13) at the age of 81, and now his widow, Nancy Jones, has announced plans to honour his legacy by building a large memorial at the Woodlawn Cemetery, where the star is buried, so fans will have a place to pay their respects.

The large ornate structure is set to include a guitar, a small sitting space and a selection of lyrics from his famous song, He Stopped Loving Her Today.

Nancy posted a mocked-up picture of the tribute on her husband's official website and revealed the monument will be erected in the coming weeks.
