Neil Patrick Harris Neil Patrick Harris has vehemently denied accusations he used a racial slur during his onstage performance with former boxing champion Mike Tyson at the Tony Awards on Sunday (09Jun13).

Online outlets, including Britain's Daily Mail Online, suggested the How I Met Your Mother star, who was hosting Broadway's most anticipated awards ceremony for the fourth time, uttered the N-word when Tyson appeared on stage during the show's opening number.

However the actor clearly said "bigger" during the televised performance, during which he repeatedly promised a "bigger Tony show", and he has hit out at the accusations, branding the reports "disrespectful".

Taking to his account to express his outrage, Harris writes, "Really, Daily Mail?!? The N-word? That's your story?!? I would NEVER be so disrespectful and frankly, neither should you."

The Daily Mail Online article has since been removed.
