William Shatner introduces GlasVegas in new video

July 10th, 2013 8:41pm EDT

William Shatner William Shatner have given rockers Glasvegas a big boost by agreeing to introduce them in their new video for the song If.

The Star Trek icon appears at the top of the promo addressing a giggling studio audience as he muses about the current state of rock 'n' roll.

The actor says, "Some people say rock 'n' roll is dead, they say it's all been done before. Every power chord, every smashed guitar, every nubile groupie covered in deli meat is merely a feeble attempt to recreate the days when rock lived, when rock mattered, when rock rocked.

"Well I say to hell with those people; they don't know. I have my assistant download the hottest new music and then I have my other assistant listen to it and tell me if I like it."

Shatner then introduces the band by stating, "They're young, they're brash and tonight they're playing their hit single. Please welcome GlasVegas."
