Man charged for stalking reporter Anderson Cooper

Anderson Cooper An overzealous fan of U.S. newsman Anderson Cooper has been charged with stalking the CNN presenter over the last five years.

Alex Hausner, who is a psychiatric patient at a New York hospital, was arrested after allegedly placing a number of unwanted phone calls to the TV personality and making four visits to the star's Big Apple home since 2008, including one incident last month (Jun13) when he tried to kick down Cooper's front door.

The 40 year old was hauled into Manhattan Criminal Court on Saturday (27Jul13) and arraigned on felony first-degree menacing, and misdemeanour harassment and stalking charges.

He is being held on $75,000 (£50,000) bail, according to the New York Post.
