Coolio Rapper Coolio is auctioning off the royalty rights to his entire music catalogue to help fund his dream of becoming a chef.

The bidding for the hip-hop star's 123-song collection, which includes Gangsta's Paradise and Rollin' With My Homies, starts at $140,000 (£93,330) and takes place on 28 August (13).

Coolio, real name Artis Leon Ivey, Jr., hopes to use money from the sale to release a follow-up to his 2009 best-selling cookbook Cookin' With Coolio and reprise his Internet cookery show of the same name.

Sean Peace, CEO of The Royalty Exchange, says, "The Coolio song catalogue auction is an exciting and rare opportunity for anyone looking for an alternative investment in music publishing and songwriter royalties. We are thrilled to be able to offer royalties attached to such an iconic artist, and to assist interested parties in the research, registration and bidding process."
