Azealia Banks stormed offstage in Australia on Saturday (05Oct13) after a fan threw a can of beer on stage.
The rapper was performing her new single ATM Jam at the Listen Out Festival in Melbourne when a concertgoer hurled the object, which narrowly missed her. The incident prompted Banks to drop her microphone and exit the stage.
A statement from Banks' representative reads, "Azealia Banks was forced to cut her set short last night at the Listen Out Festival in Melbourne on 5th October 2013. This was as a result of a member of the audience throwing a full can on beer at her on stage.
"The incident made Azealia and her stage crew feel unsafe. Banks would like to apologize to those fans in the audience whose experience was affected by the behavior of one individual."
Following the incident, Banks took to Twitter.com, writing, "Sorry to all the festival-goers in Melbourne !!!!! See ya (sic) tomorrow in Brisbane !!!!!"
