Reclusive singer/songwriter Randy Newman is set to make a rare public appearance at an upcoming industry event in Hollywood to sit for a question and answer session with his son.
The You've Got a Friend in Me hitmaker has agreed to be interviewed by his son, Amos Newman, the head of music for visual media at the William Morris Endeavor talent agency at the 2013 Billboard & The Hollywood Reporter Film & TV Music Conference.
Event boss and senior Billboard writer Phil Gallo says, "Naturally, we’re thrilled that Randy Newman will speak at the conference as his unparalleled body of work is worthy of examination and discussion. Pairing him with Amos offers a potential for a conversation you will not hear anywhere else. I look forward to a unique dialogue."
The chat will take place at the W Hotel in Los Angeles on 29 October (13).
