David Byrne An instrumental track Talking Heads played at New York's fabled CBGB club in the 1970s has resurfaced, decades after it was thought to have been lost.

The new wave band, then comprised of frontman David Byrne, drummer Chris Frantz and bassist Tina Weymouth, debuted the song, dubbed Theme, while supporting fellow rockers Television on 30 July, 1976.

It never featured on any of the band's releases, but 37 years later, it has appeared online.

The piece, uploaded to fansite Talking-Heads.net, opens with Byrne announcing, "This is an instrumental." An audience member asks, "No title?" to which the singer replies, "We call it Theme, but then we just keep it to ourselves."
