The Lego Movie still on top in the U.S. as remakes rule the top five

The Lego Movie The Lego Movie kept Kevin Hart's romantic remake About Last Night from debuting at the top of the Valentine's Day weekend box office in America on Sunday (16Feb14) with a $48.8 million (GBP30.5 million) haul.

The animated hit scored a second week at the top of the film charts, chalking up an impressive $129 million (GBP80.6 million) in just 10 days.

About Last Night, director Steve Pink's remake of of Rob Lowe and Demi Moore's 1986 hit, debuted in second place with a $29 million (GBP18.1 million) take. Another remake, RoboCop, finished in third place with $21.5 million (GBP13.4 million).

George Clooney's World War II tale The Monuments Men fell to fourth and yet another remake, Endless Love, rounded out the top five.
