DVD Review: 'Answers to Nothing'

The Flick: Much like "Crash," "Answers to Nothing" has a strong need to express much with events small. Not that there’s anything wrong with simple set ups within a dramatic storyline, but there’s just not a ton going on within this one. Most of the characters and their various plights are fairly trivial with Dane Cook as a man guilt-ridden over cheating on his wife, Elizabeth Mitchell as his unfulfilled wife and especially Miranda Bailey as a sister crushed by the crippling of her athlete brother. The only time "Answers to Nothing" gets good is when it deals with the kidnapping of a little girl, but even that feels a tad heavy-handed. The film is not unlike its title – providing unneeded insight into questions not asked.

Best Feature: The 'Music Videos' section provides songs that far eclipse the flick.

Best Hidden Gem: The song sung by Aja Volkman’s Tara (“You are relentless…”) did indeed haunt me.

Worth the Moola: A kind of "Crash" light minus the hard-edged significance, this one tries way to hard to pass the major mood test.
