December 10th, 2012 2:02pm EST

Jenni Rivera< Latin stars have begun paying tribute to Mexican singer Jenni Rivera, who is thought to have perished in a plane crash in Mexico Saturday night.

The singer was on board a Learjet en route to the city of Toluca after a performance in Monterrey when it crashed and was "totally destroyed". Civil aviation chief Alejandro Argudin said the wreckage was scattered over a wide area and that there were no survivors.

"Our deepest sympathy to the family & fans of Jenni Rivera & those that accompanied her on what was to be her last voyage. Rest in peace…" writes singer Gloria Estefan.

"Spent some time with Jenni Rivera recently," tweeted Mario Lopez; who married fiance Courtney Mazza in Mexico last weekend. "What an amazing lady... Cool, smart, funny & talented. Such a travesty... God bless her family."

Rivera was a judge on the Mexican version of hit TV show The Voice and had her own reality series, "I Love Jenni". She was accompanied on the flight by her publicist, lawyer and make-up artist. Although the singer has yet to be confirmed dead, officials have begun the task of identifying the bodies found at the crash site, and offer little hope.

"The information we have is this: there is not a single survivor," said Argudin.

"My heart breaks for the loss of Jenni Rivera & everyone on the plane. My prayers go out to her family. We lost a legend today," said Eva Longoria via twitter.

"This is sad. I'm a bit in shock. Much peace to her family," said Ricky Martin

"So sad!! Praying for Jenni Rivera's children and family and the passengers' families," tweeted Jennifer Lopez

Rivera leaves behind five children, three from her first marriage to Jose Trinidad Marin and two from her marriage to her second husband, Juan Lopez. She married her third husband, Major League Baseball pitcher Esteban Loaiza, in 2010, but the couple filed for divorce in October. Jenni even spoke about it at a press conference prior to her concert on Saturday.

"I can't get caught up in the negative because that destroys you. Perhaps trying to move away from my problems and focus on the positive is the best I can do," she said. "I am a woman like any other and ugly things happen to me like any other woman. The number of times I have fallen down is the number of times I have gotten up."
