Pixar's animated sequesl "Monsters University" held off stiff competition from Brad Pitt thriller "World War Z" at the box office over the weekend, pulling in $82 million for its opening weekend, while Pitt's zombie flick made $66 million. Despite tough competition, the Disney-owned animation studio is 13 for 13 on opening day, landing the top spot for all of its previous theatrical releases. Previous number-one "Man of Steel" pulled in another $41.2 million for third place, upping its total to $210 million in a little over a week. Comedy "This is the End" finished fourth, with $13 million; and illusionist thriller "Now You See Me" rounds out the top five with $7.9 million. (story)

The excitement is building for Disney's next blockbuster, "The Lone Ranger," which opens July 3. Stars Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer drew a huge crowd at Disneyland's California Adventure Park on Saturday to catch a glimpse of the stars on the red carpet. story)

The last year has been huge for "Star Wars" creator George Lucas, and he capped it off by marrying his long-time fiance Mellody Hobson over the weekend. The couple, who have been together for seven years, reportedly married at the Peninsula Hotel in Chicago, Illinois. Guests included filmmaker Ron Howard and "Star Wars" prequels star Samuel L. Jackson. George and Mellody got engaged in January. It's the second marriage for Lucas, who was previously wed to film editor Marcia Lou Griffin. (story)

James Gandolfini's former castmates have shared stories and tributes to the late actor, who, sadly, passed away suddenly from a massive heart attack last Wednesday. One such story reveals that he often shared his show bonuses with castmates, often personally writing checks for other members of the cast when he received a bump in his pay. He was also known to buy the entire cast and crew lunch on Fridays. (story)

Justin Bieber is still acting like a punk-a**. The teen singer had the police called on him yet again over the weekend with more complaints of him speeding up and down the streets of his gated community. Neighbors such as former NFL star Keyshawn Johnson have called police to complain, and the community's homeowners association has called a meeting for later Today to discuss the problem. Last week Justin was cleared by police after the first incident, in which it was revealed that his friend, rapper Tyler, the Creator, was the one driving the car at high speeds. Neighbors claim they've seen Bieber behind the wheel several times also. (story)

"World War Z" is the typical summer blockbuster, but don't expect it to win any special awards. The film has everything expected: "scary but not-too-gross zombies, a fast-paced journey to exotic locales, [and] a few... thrilling action scenes." (story)

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have left the hospital with their new baby, and the new issue of People magazine has all the details of Kim's experience in the hospital and giving birth to baby North over a month early. (story)

Food Network star Paula Deen, who has been sharing her southern hospitality for 11 years on the channel, has been fired by executives over a recent admission that she's used the "n-word" in the past. She was reportedly let go because her PR team did a horrible job handling the situation after Deen blew off an appearance on "The Today Show" and then issued a very scripted, insincere apology via YouTube. She released a second, more heartfelt apology after pulling the first from the video sharing site, but it was already too late. (story)

Summer's here! The official start of the season arrived on Friday, and what better way than to celebrate with a bevy of sexy beauties in bikinis? Right, there is no better way. (story)
