'The Mindy Project' Season 2: 5 Spoilers You Need To Know
September 10th, 2013 2:42pm EDT
Last season the Fox freshman comedy, "The Mindy Project" became funniest and most relatable shows on television, thanks to star and exec producer, Mindy Kaling and its incredible cast. The show ended with Mindy chopping off her hair and flitting off to Haiti with my favorite pastor. The new season kicks off on Sept. 17 at 9:30pm EST on FOX, so here are five spoilers you need to know...
He put a ring on it. In a hilarious parody of the climax of every rom-coms ever made, Mindy beckoned Pastor Casey (Anders Holm) outside his window, accepted his invitation to Haiti and they lived happily ever after, right? Probably not. However, TVGuide.com reports that Mindy and Casey return from Haiti engaged and so amped to get married that their friends throw a "slap-dash" wedding. Of course, this being "The Mindy Project" means that it's heavy on the com and light on the rom. There nuputals won't be a string quartet, the Vera Wang gown and the perfect floral arrangements, but there will be "penis cake." Consider this my RSVP!
Mindy gets her Happy Endings. Well, at least she'll get one in the form of the hysterical "Endings" alum Adam Pally. TVLine.com dishes that Pally will be joining the cast as a fellow doc in the Shulman & Associates. Maybe his character can tend to my gaping wound caused by "Happy Endings" gutting cancellation.
Mindy will once again be a single lady. Our Beyonce-lovin', fashion-obsessed diva will be single in early season 2, which isn't a massive spoiler. However, Mindy will be back on the dating scene very quickly. Her love interests include "Mad Men" dreamboat Ben Feldman, TVLine.com reports. Feldman plays a cultured writer who may judge Mindy for her low-brow tastes in entertainment (I been there, girl!), but apparently, Paula Abdul was right, opposites do attract.
"The Mindy Project" will be FRANCO'd. James Franco is re-defining the term McDreamy. The actor-slash-everything else will guest-star in the seasons opening episodes as Dr. Paul Leotard, a model-turned-doctor who covered Mindy's patients while she was on leave in Haiti, according to EW.com. He is apparently so beloved that Mindy will have to play dirty to get her job back. Is it wrong if I root for the nemesis James Franco?
