'The Bachelor' Episode 5 Recap: The Girls Play Baseball & Ben Goes Skinny Dipping With Courtney!

January 31st, 2012 3:29pm EST
The Bachelor
This week's episode of The Bachelor was fairly tame compared to the mystery guests, catfights and dramatics of the previous four, but it's evident that Ben is starting to take each girl a bit more seriously, though some more than others: can you blame him for seeming hooked on Courtney after she takes him skinny dipping?! Read on for a full recap!

Ben brings the remaining women to a beautiful resort in Vieques, Puerto Rico; the perfect location for the show with its lush greenery and multiple hot-tubs and pools. His first date is with Nikki, the laid-back brunette divorcee, and he lays the...

'The Bachelor' Episode 4 Recap: The Claws Come Out!

January 24th, 2012 2:17pm EST
The Bachelor, Horses, Date
Finally, some action! Though not the kind Bachelor Ben Flajnik might have been hoping for: the girls are getting cattier with eachother in the competition of his affection, a verbal feud erupts during the cocktail party and an unexpected departure proves that Ben is pretty sure of what he doesn't want in a girl.

In this episode, Ben and the women jet off to Park City, Utah, home of the famous Sundance film festival, where Rachel gets picked for a one-on-one date. In true show-y Bachelor fashion, a helicopter whisks she and Ben off to what was probably supposed to be a relaxing and romanti...

'The Bachelor' Recap - Episode 2 Delivers With Catfights, Tears And Lots Of Drama

January 10th, 2012 1:59pm EST
Group Date
After a slow start, the second episode of The Bachelor delivers: there are catfights and competition, a change of scenery, two one-on-one dates, plenty of steamy-hot tub moments, one very awkward group date, and of course, rivers of tears from Jenna the Blogger. In other words: we get what we tuned in for!

The girls are plucked from the LA and whisked to Sonoma, California, Ben’s hometown, and more commonly known as wine country. After the requisite ‘ooh’s’ and ‘aah’s’ over their new digs, Ben announces he has a date card – for Kacie, the administrative assistant from Tennessee.

As far as...

'The Bachelor': Season 16, Episode 1 Recap

January 5th, 2012 10:13am EST
THE BACHELOR - In Episode 1601
Horses, grannies and catfights: just three of the many surprising things in the 2 hour premiere of The Bachelor Season 16. Twenty five women will be competing for the love of Ben Flajnik, a winemaker based in San Francisco best known for having his heart (metaphorically) ripped in two by Ashley Hebert on The Bachelorette, Season 7. The episode opens with the infamous clip from the final episode, of his bended-knee proposal and his subsequent rejection. Ouch.

Not to worry - this season brings out a hopeful new Ben, one who emphasized his intentions to find real love, a willingness to commi...

Catching Up With Mike Clattenburg: Life After 'Trailer Park Boys'

August 2nd, 2010 7:20pm EDT
Trailer Park Boys
Nobody can accuse Mike Clattenburg of slacking off. Ever. Since screening his short film 'Trailer Park Boys' at a Canadian film festival in 1999, he's been masterminding every episode of the now iconic show of the same name, until the series ended in 2008. In that time, Trailer Park Boys grew from a cult hit into a show with fans all over the world, making the words "Ricky, Julian and Bubbles" mainstream, and setting a new standard for mockumentary style shooting.

With the show off the air, he's now directing his creative energy into both comedic and more serious ventures. I was lucky enou...
