September 18th, 2013 11:30am EDT

Daft Punk In a recent interview with MTV News, Nile Rodgers told MTV how their new music video, “Lose Yourself to Dance” came together.

“The Daft Punk video came about like this: ‘Hey Nile, what are you doing?’ ‘I’m in Europe.’ ‘Can you get over here and do a music video?’ ‘Sure, OK, cool.’ It was that simple,”

he explained.

Daft Punk gave us a little piece of their video for “Lose Yourself To Dance” before introducing Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers as collaborators at the 2013 Video Music Awards. They released full music video on Monday (September 16).

The first video from the band’s latest album, Random Access Memories, “Lose Yourself To Dance” is pretty impressive. Opening with the album’s title in glowing calligraphy, the video then transitions into an old-skool, funky jam on an elevated stage.
