There's a 'MacGruber' Sequel In The Works? Seriously?!

MacGruber! Making lifesaving inventions out of household materials!
MacGruber! His movie kinda bombed but they might make another one!
MacGruber! Will Forte must be strapped for cash!
In the pantheon of totally unlikely sequels to movies that tanked, "MacGruber" has to be one of the unlikeliest, but when Screen Crush talked to the film's director/co-writer Jorma Taccone, he claimed Forte's eponymous bomb deactivator just might be clever enough to pull it off.
"It would be me, Will and John [Solomon] writing it again," Taccone said. "Every time I hang out with Will, we talk about all our cool ideas for the sequel. We have the idea for it and we have a title, but I won't tell you what it is."
While we're not saying the Lonely Island funnyman is pulling our leg, it might be wishful thinking on Taccone's part given the first one's woeful $9 million take at the box office. However, due to its extreme hilariousness involving MacGruber shoving celery stalks up his butt, using Ryan Phillippe as a human shield and having sex with the ghost of his dead wife, "MacGruber" has developed a cult following that might make a low budget sequel more tenable.
It also helps that Forte is a presence to reckon with this summer, appearing in "That's My Boy," "The Watch" and "Rock of Ages." He also recently signed on to headline "Descendants" director Alexander Payne's next achingly brilliant dramedy "Nebraska," so if even one of these high profile gigs pans out, they could have the clout to detonate "MacGruber 2."
Oh, did we mention a sequel would take place at Christmas?
