NBC has confirmed that "The Voice" is bringing back all four original judges - Christina Aguilera, CeeLo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton - for its fifth season in the fall.
Shelton, Levine, Green and Aguilera were the coaches for the first three seasons. Season six will pair Levine and Shelton with Shakira and Usher, who are judges on the current fourth season.
Carson Daly will remain as the host.
Paul Telegdy, president of alternative andl ate night programming at NBC, explained: "We locked in a plan several months ago to have the outstanding Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green rejoin Blake and Adam for cycle 5, and we’re pleased to announce that the original four coaches are going to be back together in the fall."
He added, "They’re the reason this show was launched so strong for the first three cycles and we owe them a debt of gratitude."
NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt commented: "The show has taken off largely due to the rapport and commitment of these great coaches, in addition to the expert hosting of Carson Daly."
"The Voice" is holding steady in the ratings, averaging 14.5 million viewers overall on Monday nights this season. Meanwhile, competitor "American Idol" has seen a steady decline over the last few months. The singing competition is also planning a judging switch. Randy Jackson has already announced he's leaving the show after 12 years, and rumors have persisted that Mariah Carey is on the chopping block.
Simon Cowell's "The X Factor" is also looking for a new judge to replace Britney Spears, who left the series after just one season.
