'The Simpsons' Bosses Plan To Kill Off Major Character
October 1st, 2013 5:00pm EDT
A major character is going to be killed on the upcoming season of "The Simpsons."
The Sun Times quotes executive producer Al Jean as saying: "I'll give you a clue that the actor playing the character won an Emmy for playing that character, but I won't say who it is."
Actors Dan Castellaneta and Hank Azaria have lent their voices to so many Simpsons characters and have won multiple Emmys for their work, so it's tricky to guess which character is on the chopping block. In fact, nearly all the major voice actors have brought home Emmy awards.
It isn't the first time the animated series is handling death. A few characters have been killed over the years, including Frank Grimes, Bleeding Gums Murphy and Maude Flanders.
Jean confirmed that guest stars in the upcoming 25th season include Zach Galifianakis, Elisabeth Moss, and Kristen Wiig. Director Guillermo del Toro will be featured in the "Treehouse of Terror" episode, which will air Oct. 6.
In addition, Jean revealed that the season finale will center on a "Simpsons" and "Futurama" cross-over episode.
The new season of the series debuted on Sunday, Sept. 29.
