5 Things You Are Going to Want to Know About 'SNOOKI & JWOWW' Season 2
January 7th, 2013 7:00pm EST
The Jersey girls (we use that term loosely, because neither one of them is actually from New Jersey) are back, with a second season of SNOOKI & JWOWW. The show is the spiritual successor to its one-dimensional baby-daddy, "The Jersey Shore," involving two of the most loved (and hated) girls from the Shore.
Since it makes its not-so-maiden-voyage tomorrow night, we have a few little happy facts that fans might want to know about this second season, as well as a few little known facts about the first.
There may be a spoiler or two in here, so continue reading only if you want to risk ruining the elaborate and meticulous plot twists that MTV has prepared for you...
The show was to be titled "Snooki & JWoww versus the World." When MTV realized that might have sounded a little over-ambitious for two lone guidettes, they cropped off all the fluff, and just kept "SNOOKI & JWOWW" in big, obnoxious MTV-style capitals.
Also, season one of the show was set to originally be filmed in the lush paradise of Hoboken NJ, but was denied permits to film there. Failing that, the Jersey Shore in Pensylvania had extended an invitation, but quickly withdrew this after public outcry. Instead, the first season was filmed in beautiful Jersey City.
2. After that...
As some of you might remember hearing the good people of Jersey City weren't too fond of their new MTV neighbors. A number of shops in the area openly rejected MTV's new superstars, refusing to sign filming permits. Skinner's Loft, Barcade and LITM, all local party hangouts, openly announced that they would be denying the two MTV superstars patronage. Jersey Wine and Spirits even posted a "No Snooki" sign on their door. Sorry Nicole. You shouldn't have been drinking anyway.
3. And then Season One ended...
So, on to a new location for season two. Originally, filming was to be done in Morristown NJ. But 495 Productions decided to move the production out of Morristown after it evoked a highly negative response from the locals (see a trend here?) Instead, the site for filming was set in Manchester, NJ, where their presence provoked a similar, albeit less vocal, sentiment. The house that MTV leases for the set is valued at over half a million dollars in a quiet, rural neighborhood. What could possibly go wrong?
4. And along came Lorenzo.
Snooki, pregnant and ready to pop, will give birth early on in season two. This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who follows her on Twitter, which is loaded with baby Lorenzo pictures. We apologize in advance to poor Lorenzo for having to put up with his mom's bullsh!t. There will be a "tasteful" operating room scene that will be aired.
Interestingly enough, rumor has it Lorenzo's daddy, Jionni LaValle, has some interesting words to say about Snooki's party habits, now that she is responsible for her offspring. That will certainly make for some interesting developments throughout season two.
5. JWOWW wants a rock.
Unsurprisingly, JWoww is feeling a little a little left out. Strangely, Snooki was the first of the whole Jersey Shore girls to find a nice guy, get engaged and have a kid. Word down the grapevine is that JWoww is craving marital attention as well. And her longtime boyfriend Roger Matthews just might be ready to step up to the plate.
