A purported backup dancer for Nicki Minaj is being held by Tokyo police in connection with the death and sexual assault of an Irish student.
Nicola Furlong, 21, was found dead in a hotel room on Thursday, just hours after attending a Minaj concert with a female friend. According to reports, the girls met two men at the concert and ended up going back to a hotel with them.
The men, Larry Perry, 19, and hip-hop dancer James Blackston, 23, are being detained on suspicion of sexual assault.
“The death is still very much under investigation. In the meantime, the family has expressed their strong desire for privacy,” an official with the Irish Embassy in Tokyo said this week.
