Lovelace – the highly hyped film that sold for $3 million — is being sued for $10 million by the owners of the 70s porn flick Deep Throat, RumorFix has learned.
A complaint was filed in New York court on Wednesday by Arrow Productions claiming “more than five minutes of footage in Lovelace are copyrighted material taken from Deep Throat. Defendants use that footage without license or permission.”
The suit says The Weinstein Company and others “have simply taken what they wanted and crossed their fingers.”
The movie is set to open on Friday, August 9, but this injunction is asking for distribution of the film to be stopped and a full accounting be given as well as $10 million be paid in damages, interest and legal costs.
The film stars Amanda Seyfried and Peter Sarsgaard.
