'Dancing With The Stars' First All-Star Gets The Boot
The first results night of the All-Star season on “Dancing with the Stars” was a two hour special presentation that featured an encore performance, professional dance routines, and super star musicians.
Most of the first hour was filled with the celebrities telling why they had returned to the show for a second season.
After saying that the opening show of season 15 was fantastic and the best opening night ever, head judge Len Goodman said the encore performance the judges wanted to see was the highest scoring dance of performance night – the Cha Cha from season three champion Emmitt Smith and two time DWTS champion Cheryl Burke.
The pros of season 15 and the Dancing with the Stars Troupe performed a group number to a montage of dance songs.
Finally it was time for some results and the first couple safe for another week was Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough. Apolo Anton Ono and Karina Smirnoff and Joey Fatone and Kym Johnson were also safe; but Bristol Palin and her partner Mark Ballas were in jeopardy and would have to wait until the end of the show to learn their fate.
Latin singing star Pitbull gave the live television debut of his new debut single “Don’t Stop the Party” complete with a smoke machine and glow sticks.
Time for more results with Halio Castroneves and Chelsie Hightower being the next couple saved. Kelly Monaco and Valentine Chmerkovskiy were also safe but Drew Lachey and Anna Trebunskaya were in joepard and had to wait to learn their final results.
The DWTS Troupe performed earlier in the show with the professional dancers, but made their solo debut as a troupe.
The results continued with Giles Marini and Peta Murgatroyd, Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke, and Sabrina Bryan and Louis Van Amstel waiting on stage to learn their fate. Host Tom Bergeron called out Giles, Peta, Emmitt and Cheryl’s names telling them that they were all safe. Sabrina and Louis thought that they were also safe and the three couples began to celebrate. A clarification was in order for Sabrina and Louis. After saying that only the names he called were safe, Bergeron then told Sabrina and Louis that they too were safe.
Teen pop star Justin Bieber performed his hit song “As Long as You Love Me”.
The final three couples – Kristie and Maks, Melissa and Tony, and Pamela and Tristan – all came on stage to hear their results. Kristie and Maksim were safe as were Melissa and Tony; but Pamela and Tristan were in jeopardy.
The bottom three couples on week one were Bristol and Mark, Drew and Anna, and Pamela and Tristan.
Host Tom Bergeron saved Bristol and Mark leaving Drew and Anna or Pamela and Tristan as being the first couple eliminated on season 15.
After scoring the lowest points on performance night the first couple eliminated on the All Star season was…
Pamela and Tristan
