'I Love You Phillip Morris' stars Jim Carrey as real-life con man, Steven Russell. Steven is a happily married man living in Texas with his Christian wife (Leslie Mann) and their baby. Steven is an ex policeman, working in the produce business. He plays the organ in church, sings with the choir and is living the perfect life....Except for one thing...Steven is gay. After getting into an automobile accident, Steven realizes it's time for him to come out of the closet. And does he ever. Steven leaves his family, moves to Miami, hooks up with a gorgeous hunk (Rodrigo Santoro) and begins living the high life. He soon realizes that being gay costs money...a lot of money...So there's only one thing for him to do...STEAL. And he does...Over and Over again. All goes well until Steven is caught and sent off to prison. It's there, that he meets the love of his life...Phillip Morris...brilliantly played by Ewan McGregor. Steven will go to any length to live happily ever after with Phillip. And that's where the fun begins.
'I Love You Phillip Morris' is not only a quirky, funny, endearing love story between two men but it's a story about an ingenious con man that goes from being a thief, to a successful attorney, to the CFO of a major corporation. Come Oscar time, Jim Carrey will surely be at the top of the list in the Best Actor category. He has never been better...And Ewan McGregor is right up there. The 'Two Jews On Film' actually agree that everyone (over the age of 18) should go see, 'I Love You Phillip Morris'. Opens in theaters, Friday December 3, 2010.
