Air New Zealand's 'Most Epic Safety Video' Features Hobbit Elija
One way to get airplane passengers to pay attention during a flight attendant's safety speech is to air a video centering on Middle Earth and characters from "The Hobbit."

Air New Zealand really wants its customers to be safe when flying, and they also have a sense of humor. The company, which bills itself as the official airline of Middle-Earth, just released "The Most Epic Safety Video Ever Made."

Joan Rivers left her daughter Melissa more than $100 million from her estate. The comedienne and "Fashion Star" host died in September after suffering cardiac and respiratory arrest following a routine throat procedure in New York City.

A Pennsylvania judge has ruled that a plagiarism lawsuit against Led Zeppelin over their classic hit "Stairway To Heaven" can proceed despite the group's members not having any ties to the jurisdiction in which the suit was filed.

The group's lawyers requested that the suit, which was brought against the band by the family of late Spirit guitarist Randy California, be dismissed on the grounds that the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania has no right to rule on the case.

Actor Frank Sivero, who played mobster Frankie Carbone in Martin Scorsese's classic 1990 gangster flick "Goodfellas," is suing the producers of The Simpsons for using his likeness for over two decades without compensation.

The actor alleges that the animated Fox series created the character Louie, a henchman sidekick of Springfield's mob boss Fat Tony, in his likeness and has featured the character on the show in 16 of its episodes, according to the New York Daily News.

Jennifer Lopez is inking a deal to replace Britney Spears when the blonde pop star's residence ends at The Axis, Planet Hollywood, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Lopez is in final negotiations and will earn $350,000 per show, according to TMZ.com. In comparison, Spears is making $310,00 per show. However, Lopez would only do 72 shows, three times a week for 24 weeks over a one or two-year period. Spears committed to 96 shows over a two-year period.

Crunching the numbers, Spears will take home a total of $29.76 million compared to Lopez, who will make $26.38 million.
