Forgotten Friday Flick - Do You Remember 'Critters' - 1986

Forgotten Friday Flick - 'Critters'
After chatting this week with a female authority on all things horror (I bow!), one of her favorites sprung to mind for some deserving past work praise – welcome to Forgotten Friday Flick! Even though the below selection is vastly seen as a Gremlins rip-off of sorts (and it is at times – let’s be frank!), there’s more than enough alien awesome to make it a B-movie classic. Quirky kids, hot sisters, dim heroes, face changing bounty hunters and furballs with big teeth and even bigger appetites – watch out for them…"Critters!"

The Brown family are a typical rural Kansas farm clan – ha...

'Strike Back' Flashback: The Worst Kind Of Family Business, Part
In "Cinemax Season 1, Episode 5," the Strike Back boys head to Darfur and collide with a very bad man named Gerald Crawford. We know he's bad, because he's portrayed by Iain Glen, whose best known roles include menacing Richard Armitage in Spooks and being the villain in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. Some people are just very good at playing bad.

Crawford's daughter, Dr. Clare Somersby (Laura Haddock, Guardians of the Galaxy and Da Vinci's Demons), is not so evil. She's working at a primary care clinic, which is the TV kiss of death (remember the Transporter: The Series episode "Beacon of Hope"...

Ben Affleck To Bring Batman To 'Suicide Squad,' Seen Filming Car
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice won't be the only DC Comics superhero film that Ben Affleck will star in as the Caped Crusader -- it appears that he'll be reprising the role for next summer's Suicide Squad.

The actor was spotted on the streets of Toronto last week and his stunt-double (who looks an awful lot like him) was filming a scene opposite Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn) and the stunt double for Jared Leto's Joker on Wednesday.

Some of the action was even caught on video and posted to YouTube, with the stars involved in a car chase that gives us a great look at the newly redesigned...

May 29th, 2015 10:47am EDT
Henry Cavill
Just five days before filming was expected to start on "Stratton," actor Henry Cavill has dropped out of the project.

Cavill teamed up with his brother Charlie and developed the project through their Promethean Productions company. It was supposed to be Cavill's first credit as a producer. However, Cavill butted heads with writers over the script and decided to drop out.

GFM Films, which is financing the project, said in a statement: "It is with great regret that we announce that Henry Cavill has pulled out of Stratton due to creative differences on the script of the movie. With productio...

Did You Find The 'Aquarius' Premiere Boring?

'Aquarius' Premiere Recap: Mulder And Manson Make For A Surprisi
This is a recap, not a review. But when has that ever stopped me from providing you, my one reader (hi, Ma!), with my opinion? Aquarius is kind of a bore. Yes, it's nice to see David Duchovny (hi, Fox Mulder!) back on network TV. The production values are high. The cinematography is suitably dingy for a cop show. The music budget must be astronomical because man, did they obtain every 60s song you can imagine. A dude even gets slashed by a razor to "Daydream Believer!" But the goings-on are kind of a bore. In a way, the Manson component hinders the show. They're fusing historical fact with ...

'Lost In Transmission' Recap: 'Off Road Rust Bucket' - Anything
In the fourth episode of Lost in Transmission, Rutledge Wood and George Flanigen's next patient is a 1972 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ-40. But in "Off Road Rust Bucket," our boys are doing anything but cruising.

Amy is hoping that they can get the FJ-40 back in shape, so she can take her kids riding in it like her father did with her. But it hasn't run in some 20 years, and as the episode title indicates, it's got plenty of rust inside and out. "Something was living in this at some point," Rutledge comments as they survey the carcass. Ever the optimist, he still thinks they can do the job for $2...

Jeffrey Dean Morgan Shows Off Staggering Weight Loss

May 29th, 2015 8:47am EDT
Jeffrey Dean Morgan
Jeffrey Dean Morgan is the lastest star to drop a significant amount of weight for a role. The actor lost over 40 pounds for the History Channel series "Texas Rising."

Morgan, 49, was asked by producers to lose 10 pounds to play Deaf Smith, who has tuberculosis. The actor, who is 6-foot-2, took the advice -- and then some.

He told the Today Show: "He had a consumption of tuberculosis. I got there and I was probably about 175. I left and I was about 130. I ate a can of tuna fish a day."

Morgan wouldn't advise anyone follow his example. "I did it in the most unhealthy way possible. I didn’...

'Wayward Pines' - Our Town, Our Law

'Wayward Pines' Recap: Season 1 Episode 3 'Our Town, Our Law'
The last Wayward Pines' episode proved that things can get a whole lot worse than you think, and really quickly.

Beverly broke a major rule on last week's Wayward Pines, and we saw the severity of going against the town's rules. Now Ethan Burke must fight his way out of town or accept these rules. In last night's episode, Ethan continued his plan to leave Wayward Pines, but he discovered that the town may answer to an even more dangerous authority than Pope.

This episode of Wayward Pines opened up right after Beverly's execution. Sheriff Pope then makes everyone in town recite the rules...
